Knitting Club Makes Headbands

The Knitting Club, headed by Mrs. McCullough, has been busy this fall. Last year hundreds of dollars’ worth of supplies were donated to the club. This year the members have used this yarn to fund raise. The club has nearly 50 members and has spent this football season knitting. They have created headbands to sell for $5 at football and volleyball games. The members have made over 200 headbands!

Mrs. McCullough decided to use the money raised to make cloth bags for the members to hold their knitting supplies. The bags have the member’s name and the knitting club logo on each side. She will also buy yarn and needles for other projects. Mrs. McCullough teaches the basics so anyone can make a simple project. Members make what they individually want including hats, mittens, and scarves.

If you want to learn to knit come to Mrs. McCullough’s room after school on Mondays and Wednesdays to check it out!
