Lady Devils Basketball Season Updates

The Lady Devils are 10-6 overall and 8-3 in the EOAC. At the beginning of the season they started as a “young” team. Now that the season is more than halfway over ,they are no longer considered “young.” Coach Entrikin states, “Since we only have one senior, a lot of underclassmen are playing significant minutes, which will help us the rest of this season and next.  We want to finish the regular season strong & make a tournament run.” With one senior, four juniors, and two sophomores, the varsity girls are still in the process of achieving their goals. Izzy Perez is the leading scorer and ball handler. Maddie Liberati is a force inside. Alyssa Chestnut is our best outside shooter. Autumn Oehlstrom leads us in rebounds. Chloe Smith & Hailee Carpenter are great lockdown defensive players, and Cadee Johnson is our spark coming off the bench.

After losing to rivalry, Columbiana, for the second time this season, the team has still managed to bounce back with big league wins against Toronto, Leetonia, and Southern. Columbiana is a veteran team, who has won the league for the last five years in a row. “We are up and coming. We competed very well in both games & had opportunities to win both. We must learn from the things we didn’t do well and build on all the positive things that we did do,” says Entrikin. The Lady Devils Senior Night is February 15th against United, come out and support our lone senior, Alyssa Chestnut.
