Coach T Breaks the Record

David Anderson High School’s football coach, Jim Tsilimos, recently broke the record for most wins in a career. Coach T is now known as the “winningest coach” in the school’s history, with 143 wins over his 25 seasons, passing 142 wins previously set by Bud Butcher. The history making game was no other than the unseen win over Mineral Ridge.

Coach Tsilimos was surprised with a memorial rock, known as Jim Tsilimos Memorial Rock, which is placed just outside the entrance to War Memorial Stadium. On this stone, the plaque is unfinished, leaving a blank spot to engrave his career record once he retires.

Additionally to the surprise of the rock itself, a ceremony was held during halftime at the Friday home game against East Palestine. The volunteers were recognized for making the rock a possibility by raising almost $4,000 to pay for it. The volunteers were Dana Blackburn, Barb Reed, Robin Houlette, the Lisbon Touchdown Club, Dave Rose, Doug Minor, and John Wilms.
