Spelling Bee


On February 3rd, 2017, Lisbon David Anderson Junior High students participated in the annual Spelling Bee. Student were dismissed from class during 7th and 8th period. The Spelling Bee was held in the auditorium where parents were more than welcome. There were forty students participating in total, ten students from each of grades 5-8. Everyone who participated received a candy bar. The first place winner was Mallory Gallo and she received a dictionary as well as a $50.00 gift card. The runner-up, Joey Diludovico, received a prize of a $15.00 gift card. The second runner-up, Sophie Buchanon, also received a gift card of $10.00.

The winner and the runner-up will get to move on to the County Spelling Bee, which will be held on March 8th, 2017. The County Spelling Bee is held in the DAHS auditorium as well. The winner of the Columbiana County Spelling Bee will receive a free trip to Washington D.C. where they will compete in the National Spelling Bee.
