Cheerleaders Keep Spirit Up

The DAHS cheerleaders are off to a great start this season. They have a new coach, Kara Craig, along with the help of Alison Thompson. Kara coached in the past at Heartland Christian. She has contributed so much to the program already. Kara came up with fantastic fundraisers to purchase new pom-poms and gorgeous sparkly bags.

Kara has the cheerleaders looking uniform and great every Friday night. The awesome football team is currently 4-0 with the cheerleaders showing their support every game. The cheerleaders have been working with the pep club, student section, and band to keep the spirit up to help lead the boys onto more victories.

The senior cheerleaders are Julie Muntean and Courtney Tolson. The younger cheerleaders look up to them in terms of leadership and guidance. They are somewhat the captains of the squad, but Kara expects good leadership and teamwork out of each individual cheerleader.

The squad is now getting ready to plan homecoming week, the homecoming pep rally, and homecoming dance. The cheerleaders decide on the theme and decorate the gym and clean up after. During the next few weeks they will be planning and preparing, while working on new cheers and ideas to help lead the boys to more wins.
