Groundhog Day is a widely recognized and popular tradition. Every year people predict if the groundhog will see his shadow. The groundhog emerges from his hole on February 2nd of each year. If it is sunny, the groundhog will see his shadow and we will have six more weeks of winter. If it is cloudy, the groundhog will not see his shadow and we will have an early spring. This event is held in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania with a groundhog named Punxsutawney Phil. My prediction would be that he will see his shadow because we really have not had much of a winter. It would be pretty exciting if we had an early spring and we could possibly have a hot, sunny summer. But Punxsutawney Phil did NOT see his shadow we will be having an early spring.
