DAHS Welcomes New Band Director


Mr. Miller is our new music teacher and band director. He is a graduate of Austintown Fitch High School class of 2011. In May of 2015, Mr. Miller earned his bachelor degree in music education from Youngstown State University, where he was involved in the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Marching Pride, Basketball Pep Band, Jazz Ensembles, Dana Chorale, Chamber Winds, and Brass Quintets. He was also a member of Ohio Collegiate Music Education Association, YSU Dance Club, and served as a Presidential Mentor for 2 years.

For the past 2 years Mr. Miller was the Assistant Band Director at Mercer Area Jr./Sr. High School. While there he assisted teaching and directing their Marching Band, Basketball Pep Band, and Jazz Ensemble. Mr. Miller also had experience with YSU as Marching Pride trumpet section leader, drum major, head drum major, and Concert Band trumpet section leader.

Mr. Miller is a triplet with two brothers, Michael and Jacob. He is an avid Cleveland sports fan. His favorite teams are the Browns, Indians, and Cavaliers, as well as Ohio State and all YSU Sports. He enjoys playing his trumpet in school musicals throughout the area. Mr. Miller feels that this school year has been off to a great start. He states that the staff and students are kind, encouraging, and supportive of him and the music program. Mr. Miller knows that he is fortunate to have students that are dedicated, passionate, and talented. He is very excited that he was hired at Lisbon and is looking forward to the rest of the year.
