Boys Basketball Team Plays at Covelli Center

The Lisbon boys’ basketball team was invited to play at the Covelli Center against Neshannock on Sunday, January 25th. It was a big game played between a Pennsylvania team and an Ohio team. The Devils were excited to play in an atmosphere that was way different from the usual high school gymnasium. The Covelli Center had 10 times the amount of seats as a regular gym, which was good because the Devils brought along a lot of fans with them to support the team. The Devils lost the game but it was still a great experience. The boys played hard throughout the game and never gave up.
The first quarter was back and forth, leaving the crowd on the edge of their seats the whole time. In the second quarter, Neshannock pulled away with the lead, and at halftime the Devils were losing by 12. In the fourth quarter the Devils would eventually cut the lead to 4, but they had to foul to stop the clock. Neshannock made most of their free throws, boosting their lead. The final score was 68-54. Austin Rutecki led the team in scoring with 19 points, Avery Andric contributed 11 points, and Josh Craig and Josh Liberati each scored 10 points. The Devils hit 6 threes; three each by Avery Andric and Austin Rutecki.
