Anna Maria Louisa Krause: DAHS German Foreign Exchange Student

Anna Krause, from Bad Oldesloe, Germany is one of DAHS’s foreign exchange students this year. Anna’s hometown is close to the beach, and she loves going there with her friends in the summer. In her spare time, Anna loves to travel; she’s been to more than six different countries, including France, Denmark, Spain, England, Poland, and the United States. Her favorite country to visit was Spain because the weather was so nice when she went. Anna also hopes to visit Italy someday.

Some of the things she misses about Germany includes the food (which she says is cheaper and healthier), the public transportation that allows her to go out without relying on someone else to drive her, and the German chocolate that does not compare to our American Hershey’s. She was also surprised to find out that there are less sidewalks around here, compared to her home country where sidewalks are everywhere. But Anna is really enjoying her time here in America, too, and she is looking forward to participating in Track and Field in the spring and going to Prom.
