The Fault in Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars

This past summer everyone was talking about The Fault in Our Stars. The Fault in Our Stars or TFIOS for short, is a novel by John Green that was created into a movie. The two main characters are Hazel Grace Lancaster and Augustus Waters. Sadly, they both are dying of cancer, but they meet at a support group and fall in love. Both the movie and the book were excellent, but there are little, yet noticeable, differences. In the book, Hazel’s best friend is a girl named Kaitlyn. They go to the mall together, and a little girl at the mall ask Hazel about her oxygen tank that helps her breathe. Hazel lets her try on her oxygen plugs. In the movie, the mall scene never happens, and Kaitlyn is never mentioned. In the movie, Augustus tells Hazel that he loves her at the Oranjee restaurant. But in the book, this never happens. Also in the book, Augustus has a big family, and the big family is crazy about Thanksgiving. In the movie, they never mention anything about Augustus’s family or the craze about holidays. If you have not read the book or seen the movie, I would definitely recommend it. Both are fantastic and have so much meaning behind them.
