The Lisbon Blue Devils Varsity Boys Basketball squad suffered a heartbreaker to Canton Central Catholic 60-44 in the district finals at Salem. Although the season is over, the future is bright for this young and elite core of men. There are many accolades from this season that ensure that the season was a raging success, and that the best has yet to come.

The Blue Devils finished the season with a record of 21-5, which is a school record for wins. There were also individual records from this season. Avery Andric broke the record for the most 3-pointers in a season and Josh Liberati holds the record for most assists in a season. What might be the most intriguing? Each of the sophomore starters received ITCL honors for their memorable season. Austin Rutecki received 1st Team All-Conference Honors, while also recieving 3rd Team Northeast Ohio. Josh Liberati also recieved 1st Team All-Conference Honors, including Honorable Mention Northeast Ohio.  Avery Andric received 2nd Team All-Conference Honors, and Josh Craig recieved Honorable Mention All-Conference honors.

Not only did the tournament run spark a rebirth of the community, but it also put Lisbon back on the competitive map. There has definitely been a change in atmosphere, and with the Varsity Girls Basketball Team winning their 3rd straight sectional final, Lisbon basketball is here to stay.
